General Information

简述

Purpose:   

The 2011 AKAD Summer Internship Program has been designed to provide United States bound high school students not only with an opportunity to immerse themselves in an English-speaking environment but also provide them with invaluable work experience. 

Through the participation in this internship program, the participating students will be not only be more adept at working and conversing in the English Language, they will also be acquainted with how an organization is run and what is expected within the context of the workplace.

目的：

该项目旨在为将要赴美的中国优秀学生提供一个能够沉浸于英语环境的机会，而且此项计划同时也将提供宝贵的工作经验。

通过参加这个实习生项目，学生不仅能够熟练的用英语来进行工作和交流，而且他们也能够了解到一个组织是怎样的运作以及相关的职业素养

Duration 持续时间:

The internship will run for 1 to 2 months depending on the intern’s availability.  The internship will take place in the summer before the student commences college.

这个实习生项目会根据实习生的情况持续1个或者2个月时间，一般在学生前往美国大学之前的夏季时间。

Location  地点:

The internship program is offered in the Shanghai, Hangzhou and Ningbo offices.

实习生项目地点为上海，杭州和宁波。

 

Qualification  对象:

Chinese Student who is going to an elite U.S college this fall or who has finished his or her freshman year in U.S.

今年秋季前往美国顶尖大学的中国大一新生，或已在读的大学一年级毕业生。

 

Job Scope 

工作范围 

Responsibilities of Intern:  

实习生工作职责 

1.      Teacher Assistantship

·                                 Ensuring that students complete assignments on time

·                                 Conducting small-group sessions for students

·                                 Grading student assignments and tracking students’ scores and progress

·                                 Selecting articles from New York Times Opinion Column and other English periodicals, and leading discussions on these articles

1.      助教

o         确认智梦学生（一般为托福,SAT,SSAT学习者）按时完成作业

o         组织智梦学生进行小组讨论

o         批改相关的作业以及追踪学生的成绩以及他们的进步

o         从纽约时报意见栏或其他英文刊物中选取一些优秀文章，并引导他们对这些文章进行评价

2.      Organization and Leadership of Book Club

·                                 Working with the Senior Foreign Consultants on the selection of reading materials

·                                 Writing Book Reports which will be submitted to the assigned Foreign Consultant

·                                 Creating weekly Reading Questionnaires for students

·                                 Leading discussions on readings

 

2.   书友会的组织以及领导

o         和资深外籍顾问一起选择阅读素材

o         写读书报告，并上交给指定的外籍顾问

o         每周为智梦学生创建阅读问卷

o         引导智梦学生进行阅读讨论

 

3.      Conducting of Workshops

·                                 Creating and leading presentations on issues that US-bound students would benefit from

 

开展研讨会

o         在自身外籍顾问的帮助下，进行和留美生活相关的主题演讲，包括Career Track, Internship Hunting, U.S Campus Culture等

 

4．Organizing weekly Zhimeng Internal Meetings

·                                 Organizing and creating the agenda for each weekly internal meeting

·                                 Liaising with members on staff and collecting points of discussion for each weekly meeting beforehand

·                                 Writing the minutes for each meeting and disseminating it to staff members.

·                                 Presenting the summary of each meeting to Senior Foreign Consultant and/or Office Manager

 

组织每周的智梦公司例会

o         组织并创建会议的议程

o         每周例会前和相关参加会议的成员联络并收集讨论要点

o         记录会议的细节并发放给每个员工

o         向资深外籍顾问或者经理做关于每周会议的总结报告

 

5.      Performing various administrative tasks

·                                 Working with staff members to schedule classes and client meetings

·                                 Receiving client phone calls and conveying messages to various staff members

·                                 Sitting in on client meetings and taking meeting notes

 

参与各种公司日常管理的事务

o         和智梦全职团队一起安排相关课程以及客户面谈

o         接听客户电话以及传达相关信息给对应的团队成员

o         旁听客户会谈并做笔记

1.      Improvement of spoken and written English

·                                 Given that English is used throughout the office as well as classes, the intern will feel completely immersed in the language

o Upon arriving in college, these will be valuable skills for succeeding inside and out of the classroom.

o         因为英语在办公以及上课的时候都需要用到，实习生会沉浸在英语的氛围之中

2.      Improvement of presentation skills

·                                 Public Speaking is constantly required of the intern

o Upon starting college, students will be required to participate in classroom discussions or be involved in group presentations.

·                                 Power Point presentations will be required of the intern

o Useful for classroom/professional presentations in college

 

演讲能力的提高

o         公开演讲是实习生一贯必须掌握的

l        来到美国校园，学生会被要求参加课上的讨论以及以小组形式进行团队演讲报告

o         实习生需要掌握Office Power Point的相关使用技巧

l        对于在大学中作演讲很有帮助

 

3.      World knowledge/ Current issues

•       Raise the level of understanding of regional and global issues through the discussion of articles from New York Times, The Economist and other readings

o Given the liberal nature of the US undergraduate education, exposure to a wide range of issues is central to success at the college level.

•       Learn how to conduct intellectual conversations with fellow colleagues

o Given that many smaller college classes are centered around small-class discussions, it is very important that students learn how to conduct intellectual conversations, the style of which differs greatly from informal social conversation.

 

世界知识/当下实事的认知

o         通过对纽约时代，经济学人以及其他阅读刊物的讨论，提高对于地区性以及全球问题的理解

n        因为美国大学本科通识教育的特性，多方面的知识有助于今后取得成功

o         学习如何和有西方背景的同事进行交流

n        因为美国很多大学都进行小班制教育，如何进行聪明的交流就显得非常重要，这种交流的方式和非正式的社会交流有很大不同。

 

4.      Cultural exchange

•       Interaction with colleagues from different parts of the world

n        Allows intern to develop the requisite interpersonal skills to conduct relations with people from different cultural and national backgrounds

u      This is a very important skill because US college campuses are not only very racially diverse, but also nationally diverse, with international students coming from many different countries.

u      Given that many global companies are racially and nationally diverse, it is very important that students gain the confidence and the skills necessary in operating in such a setting.

文化交流

n        和来自世界各地的智梦团队进行交流

（智梦的顾问团队会讲6国语言，有总共8个国家的血统，先后从事与包括金融，法律，联合国等多个精英行业，曾先后在10个国家拥有生活经历。）

u      提高实习生和来自不同地区不同文化同事之间的交际能力

u      这种跨文化交流能力很重要因为美国大学校园内学生种族不同，而且国籍也不同，大家都来自不同的国家。

 

5.      Exposure to Western office etiquette

•       To expose intern to Western office etiquette

n        Western office etiquette is very different from Chinese office etiquette and to be successful in the western corporate setting it is imperative that Chinese students develop the requisite understanding.

 

融入西方办公礼仪

n        让实习生融入到西方办公礼仪中

u      西方办公的礼仪和中国的办公礼仪有很大不同，为了能够在西方的环境中获得成功，掌握并提高对于西方礼仪的理解是必需的

 

6.      Learning how to conduct client meetings

·                                 To give the intern the opportunity to learn how to conduct client and sales meetings.

 

学习如何组织客户会议

n        提供实习生学习如何组织客户会议以及营销活动的机会

 

7.      Develop Time Management skills

·                                 Given the different tasks that the intern will be responsible for, he/she will develop the skill of time management.

n        Time management is crucial to success at college given the heavy workload and the independence from familial support.

 

提高时间管理技巧

n        因为实习生被分配的任务各有不同，他们会掌握如何更有效的利用时间

n        因为繁重的学习压力以及缺少家人的帮助，如何有效的去管理分配时间进行工作对于在大学中取得成功非常重要

 

8.   Gain Extensive Exposure to Future Career Development

n        By sharing previous experiences and introducing the intern to their friends, AKAD team members are committed to help the intern obtain a comprehensive insider-only view on certain careers interested.

n        AKAD team has connections in various fields, such as financial service, business strategic consultancy, legal advisory, and etc

 

获得对未来职业发展的建议

n        智梦团队会通过介绍自身在比如联合国，投资银行，外资律所的经历，及引荐在相关职业领域的朋友们，帮助实习生对未来他（她）感兴趣的职业有个深层次的认识。

n        智梦团队对金融服务，商业战略咨询, 法律咨询服务等领域有所见解
